Planned Features
Phase 1 — Remote PTT Button
- Large PTT button on the watch face
- Tap-to-toggle operation (same as Wear OS)
- Haptic feedback on button press
- Hub name and channel display
- Connection status indicator
Future Phases
- Watch microphone capture for standalone PTT
- Watch speaker for audio playback
- Complications for quick launch
How It Will Work
Similar to the Wear OS integration:
- The watch communicates with your iPhone via WatchConnectivity framework
- Your iPhone handles all audio processing and network communication
- The watch acts as a remote control — sending PTT commands and displaying status
Current Alternatives for iOS Users
While the Apple Watch app is in development:
- Bluetooth PTT — Use any Bluetooth headset's media button for hands-free PTT
- iPhone PTT — The on-screen PTT button on your iPhone
💡 Tip
If you have both an Apple Watch and a Wear OS watch (or a crew member has one), the Wear OS integration is available today. The Apple Watch version will provide the same experience for iOS-native users.
